The 10th century church of St Lazarus is built over the tomb of the first bishop of Larnaka and is one of the finest examples of Byzantine architecture in Cyprus.

The mosque of Hala Sultan Tekke honours the Prophet Mohammed's aunt who died here and is the fourth most important place of moslem pilgrimage. It is set on the edge of the Larnaka salt lake and if you are there at the right time you may be lucky to see flocks of migrating flamingoes.
